What is an IIN and why translation is required
The IIN (ИИН) is a 12-digit individual identification number required in Kazakhstan to open a bank account, sign contracts, register a business, buy property, get a SIM card or work legally. To apply, foreign citizens must submit a notarized translation of their passport into Russian or Kazakh.
